March Update!

Updated: Mar 30

Ahh March, the start of the prettiest season: Spring.

And like flowers in spring, I'm feeling blooming marvellous :)

SMS... was a SUCCESS!

The long anticipated, first of it's kind "Sheffield Monologue Showcase" premiered on March 10th.

18 South Yorkshire based actors of all ages and abilities graced the stage at DINA in their Cellar to bear their selections, of some personally written, monologues in front of local industry professionals.

The night in question went down a storm. We had some incredible feedback, both from our feedback box and in person, during our networking session after the show. A lot of people were asking when our next one will be.

For those who missed this one, we will be having a SECOND premiere in later March at a bigger venue. We'll have a ticket link with all confirmations coming soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that on our Facebook and Instagram pages: @sheffmonologueshowcase

We will also be having a Young Adults and Children Showcase in April for under 18's. This will work a little differently with a open Q&A panel of industry professionals.

Then onto our next adult showcase in May. We'll take on 20 actors and have the same set up. All actors are offered professional photos and videos of their performances for a majorly discounted price. This also includes the networking.

*Photos and Videos of the performances that took place at our premiere will be available to see on YouTube very soon*

1. I'll be reviewing a show called "Conker Kids" next week at Theatre Deli for their matinee performance. I believe it's set around WW2. I don't typically go to shows like this very often so I reckon it'll be a new one for my cleansed theatre pallet.

2. I am also going to be reviewing the fantastic Mage Plays theatre group perform another original comedy play, "Divine Intervention" on Friday the 20th of March. This will be at The Holt. I'm super excited as I have a few friends in the cast and I know they will smash it as they always do!

3. I just booked tickets for Ghost Stories in April - ahhh. I've heard great things and am BIG into horror theatre so I will be dead excited to go see this with my good friend Ashley.

After the success of SMS, I've been invited to join the panel on "In The Frame" festival in November at Barnsley Civic. Very exciting.

I've JUST finished and can (mostly) reveal that I did a voice recording session for an art installation that will be hosted at the British Pavilion in Venice, Italy!

I'll also be performing my drag cabaret act "Gloria Swallows" at Hallmark Variety night in York next month too. I've missed it so much.

As always my beloved blog readers, check back next month for more MEL-o-DRAMA.

And if you're still reading and you haven't seen me in a while, send me a message, let's go for coffee. I'm always wrapped up in my to-do-lists so it's nice to take a break now and again.
